Chrysler recalled nearly 92,000 hybrid SUVs over the potential for drive power loss.

An estimated 1% of the 2022 to 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokees have a software error in their hybrid control processors. The issue can cause a battery pack control microprocessor overload and resulting reset that can lead to a signal misinterpretation and accompanying power loss.

The automaker said in documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it’s aware of hundreds of potential instances of the problem but had no reports of any crashes or injuries.

Problem software entered production in July 2021 and was removed from production late last month.

Chrysler was working to develop a remedy for the software flaw. It’s scheduled to mail recall notices to owners on Oct. 23.
