WALTHAM, Mass. — DealerRater announced that Lexus and Subaru have received the highest ratings in customer satisfaction among all vehicle OEMs as part of its 2015 Consumer Rating Index. DealerRater is a reviews website for consumers to search, rate and read car dealership reviews.

For the second consecutive year, Lexus scored as the highest performing luxury brand with an average score of 4.824, followed by Mercedes-Benz at 4.781. Subaru achieved the top spot for mass market brands with a score of 4.757, followed by MINI at 4.746. Automotive manufacturers within the luxury and mass market brand categories are ranked separately in the CRI.

The DealerRater CRI is calculated by averaging consumer ratings of individual dealerships posted on the company’s website. It allows manufacturers to gauge the level of customer satisfaction at their dealerships relative to the competition based on consumer feedback across all levels of the buying experience, including customer service, quality of work, friendliness, price and overall experience.

“Consumers are adding online reviews as a critical element to the car-shopping equation,” said Gary Tucker, DealerRater CEO. “The Consumer Rating Index allows car shoppers to evaluate how brands stack up against each other in terms of customer satisfaction at the dealership-level.”

The 2015 CRI is based on nearly 416,000 reviews collected on DealerRater.com during the 12-month period ending March 31, 2015. To qualify for CRI, luxury brands must have received a minimum of 500 reviews and mass market brands were required to receive 1,000 reviews. The rankings are based on numerical averages of all reviews that are attributed to a specific OEM.
