DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Garth Cappy, former director of dealer enterprise relationships for Equifax, has joined CreditMiner as vice president of credit services for North America. In that role, he will oversee the firm's automotive vertical.

“The addition of Garth to our team solidifies our standing, growth, and commitment in the retail automotive sector. Our culture at CreditMiner is dealer centric, since most of the partners and executive staff come from the dealer space as either an owner, operator, or operational management,” said Don O’Neil, general manager of of CreditMiner. “Garth brings the entire skill set to the table with OEM, dealer, and Equifax experience already under his belt."

Cappy brings more than 30 years of automotive industry experience, having worked for OEMs, dealerships and credit reporting agencies.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the innovative team at CreditMiner,” Cappy said. “This is a company that understands the importance of technology integration for dealers, in a way that enhances not only dealer profitability, but the overall consumer experience as well.”

CreditMiner is a real-time solution provider that pre-qualifies and pre-screens automotive consumers on Experian, TransUnion and Equifax credit bureau platforms by performing a soft pull on a consumer’s credit report. The company states that it gives franchise and independent dealers the same results that a hard pull would result in, but without impacting a consumer's credit report.

The service, the company adds, is fully compliant with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
