ATLANTA — Cox Automotive has named Mark Luber to the newly created role of chief data officer, reporting to Chief Product Officer Marianne Johnson. Luber will lead the company’s Data Solutions team and data strategy, helping uncover new opportunities to monetize existing data and working to bring new data solutions to market, among other responsibilities.

Associate Vice President of Enterprise Data Product Management Woodson Savage and a team of more than 150 experts in data science, product management, strategy, enablement, operations, and analytics will report to Luber. Previously, Luber spent 15 years at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, where he established a track record of bringing differentiated solutions to market. During his decade and a half with the company, Luber held a wide variety of roles spanning technology and product management leadership, market and analytic strategy, and data acquisition, all according to the announcement.

“As the first chief data officer for Cox Automotive, Mark’s key objectives will be to unlock the power of Cox Automotive’s unprecedented data assets, accelerate our journey to become a truly data-driven business, and find new opportunities to monetize data products,” Johnson said.
