FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Carfax has expanded its role in the Nissan and Infiniti certified pre-owned (CPO) programs to boost customer retention at certified dealerships. As part of the program benefits, Nissan and Infiniti CPO buyers now get enrolled in the free myCarfax service so they receive service and recall alerts for their vehicle from Carfax.

Nissan North America is the first to make customer enrollment in myCarfax part of the CPO purchase process. Service reminders and recall notices sent to the customer through myCarfax help ensure those vehicles are cared for by the selling dealer’s service department.

“Our goal with the myCarfax app is to increase the value of our CPO program to our customers along with allowing us to enhance the overall customer experience,” said Michael Verpoort, senior manager of certified pre-owned sales for Nissan.

Through this enhanced partnership, Nissan and Infiniti CPO buyers also receive free copies of their vehicle’s Carfax Vehicle History Report and Carfax Buyback Guarantee certificate from the dealer. Since 2012, certified Nissan and Infiniti dealers are required to run a Carfax Report on all CPO-eligible vehicles, which must qualify for the Carfax Buyback Guarantee. All Nissan and Infiniti CPO vehicles also are listed for sale with free Carfax Reports on carfax.com.

According to the automaker, more than 70% of all Nissan and Infiniti dealerships are part of the myCarfax Service Shop program. Maintenance work performed by participating dealers is reported to Carfax and easily accessible through the myCarfax app.
