A new partnership is aimed at giving parents guidance on choosing car seats based on safety reviews and other considerations.
Consumer Reports is teaming with multiplatform pregnancy and parenting brand The Bump to provide reviews and ratings of car seat products.
The partners said free ratings and other tools are designed to help make the process of choosing and using car seats easier for parents. Consumer Reports said vehicle crashes are a leading cause of child deaths.
Offerings include reviews of car seats and other products and services, videos on proper car seat use, a car seat quiz, and lab-test ratings to be integrated with The Bump’s digital content. Platform readers will get a discounted Consumer Reports membership.
The free interactive quiz, based on Consumer Reports’ ratings of more than 100 car seats it’s tested, gives parents customized recommendations based on each family’s situation.
“By combining our research and testing with The Bump’s expert and real-life parenting perspective, we’re helping parents navigate important purchase decisions with confidence,” said Consumer Reports Director of Baby Content Development Siobhan Adcock.
