SACRAMENTO — The California New Car Dealers Association (CNCDA) reported that 2012 new-vehicle registrations in California increased 25.3 percent over 2011. The state dealer group also said the increase outpaces the increase in national sales, which were up 13.4 percent versus 2011.
According to the CNCDA, more than 1.6 million new cars and light trucks were purchased during 2012, a feat not seen since 2007.
“With California’s economy on the rebound, consumers feel confident again about buying a new car, and there has never been a wider selection of models to choose from,” said Darryl Holter, CNCDA Chairman and operator of the eight-rooftop Downtown L.A. Auto Group.
