OAKLAND, Calif. — Following reports that used-car dealers in the Bay Area were selling recalled vehicles that had not been fixed, Senator Hannah Beth Jackson held a press conference this week to introduce a bill that would make it illegal for used-car dealers and rental car companies to sell used cars with open recalls issues, according to a report by KTVU.com.
Senate bill 686 will be heard in committee in June. Jackson said she believes the legislation will create 1,000 new mechanic jobs in California.
