CENTREVILLE, Va. — Carfax has announced the release of Carfax Snapshot, a tool designed to help consumers on car-shopping websites make faster buying decisions. It does so by putting key vehicle history details — including reported accidents, number of owners, service records and open recalls — on the search results and vehicle details pages.

“We’re constantly looking for new ways to help our dealers boost buyer confidence,” said Larry Gamache, a spokesperson for Carfax. “Carfax Snapshot gives online shoppers an up-front, instant overview of the vehicle history information that matters most to them. Seeing this information helps people find the right vehicle faster and gets them one step closer to buying from the selling dealer.”

According to the company, Audi and GM have already begun using the tool on their certified pre-owned websites. Additionally, every vehicle that Carfax Advantage Dealers advertise for sale on Carfax.com with Carfax Used Car Listing will include Carfax Snapshot.

The tool can also be added to online listings created with Autoblog.com; Auto Ad Manager; AutoCorner; Autofusion; AutoMall.com; Dealer Car Search; Higher Turnover; LotBrowser.com; LotPro.com; Recycler.com; and V12 Software, according to the company.
